2026 - Roadmap
For me, this year isn't about shipping something - it's about learning and deliberately developing my skills.
I want to get better at finishing small things, experimenting quickly, and strengthening my fundamentals before committing to something long-term. So 2026 is my foundation year.
Game Jams
One of my main goals this year:
⬜ Complete at least one game jam
Ideally, more than one - but if I complete even a single jam, I'll consider that a genuine achievement.
With little to no formal game development experience, I think game jams are the perfect opportunity. They naturally encourage:
- Fast decision-making
- Realistic scoping
- Creative problem-solving
- Shipping something, even if it's imperfect
They remove the luxury of overthinking and force progress. And right now, that's exactly what I need.
Small Experiments
Outside of jams, I plan to build smaller, focused projects throughout the year.
Working on smaller builds will allow me to dedicate time to specific areas each month - improving particular skills instead of trying to do everything at once.
This might include:
- Single-mechanic prototypes
- Short experimental projects
- Technical challenges
- UI/UX practice builds
- Gameplay feel tests
The goal is simple:
Build → Finish → Reflect → Improve
No endless polishing. No scope creep. Just steady growth.
Documenting the Journey
I created this site to track progress and document the process - what I learn, what works, what breaks, and what I'd do differently next time.
MythicalDocs is my personal space, but it's also a public archive of growth. A place to record not just outcomes, but the lessons behind them.
The Real Goal
By the end of the year, I want:
- Stronger fundamentals
- Completed small projects
- Better instincts
- Confidence in my skills
That's the win.
So here's to building smaller, learning properly, and making consistent progress.
